Heat Transfer Press

Heat transfer vinyl is a hot product, no pun intended. However there a few things you need to know before you embark on a journey into the world of heat presses and heat transfer vinyl. These heat applied vinyl products are fantastic when it comes to performance, when properly applied, but they are a bit temperamental when it comes to actual application. There are two basic requirements for making a successful transfer of this heat activated vinyl. You need proper temperature and proper pressure. These can absolutely be accomplished by use of a home iron. That is why this material is also commonly referred to as iron on vinyl or T-shirt vinyl. However, it can be difficult to properly control your heat and temperature settings with an ordinary iron as this is not really what they were meant for. The best way to make consistent, top quality applications of heat transfer vinyl is with a heat press. A heat press is a machine designed to specifically control those two basic things, temperature and pressure.

P.S. – Must be certified in the use of the Vinyl Cutter prior to earning a Heat Press Badge; see link below for information on Vinyl Cutter & Certification.
